Prime example of why sometimes it’s best to use a travel agent vs booking direct. I have had so many ask my this question so here is one major reason!
I had a client who contacted me yesterday to book her on a 12 day Royal Caribbean cruise to take advantage of the 4x points sale for a solo. She had already contacted RC herself prior to contacting me and verified that it qualifies which they said it did and I also called and they said it did. I booked the cruise but did not feel comfortable taking her deposit since their deposits are non refundable because my gut told me something wasn’t right so I asked her not to pay the deposit and lt me dig deeper. Today I called RC and after being very persistent that this needs to be checked into further we determined that hers does not qualify and this is after 3 different agents said it did and she was only booking this one for the extra points. Had she had booked direct, she would have lost 36 points. Even if you don’t use me as your travel agent, I urge you to find one who will advocate for you when necessary. With over 1200 clients and 600 current bookings, I always strive to provide the best customer service possible and have many repeat customers due to this.
So for no extra cost using my services, plus free onboard credit sometimes when booking a balcony why not? Nothing to loose and you only gain in one way or another!
